February 29th, 2012
On 2-29-2012 at 6:30 AM, the MJFD was dispatched to the intersection of Route 522 & New Road for a vehicle fire. Firefighters arrived to find a Ford Ranger pick-up fully involved. Firefighters from Engines 208 & 206 used an 1-3/4" hoseline to extinguish the fire. All units cleared the scene by 7 AM.
February 23rd, 2012
Just before 2PM on 2-23-12, the MJFD was dispatched to Blackhorse Lane near Route 1 for a brush fire secondary to a transformer fire. Deputy Chief 210 arrived to find a brush fire spreading quickly to due windy conditions. Firefighters from Engine 208 & Kendall Park Engine 221 were able to quickly confine and extinguish the fire. All units cleared the scene within the hour.
February 18th, 2012
Shortly after 11 AM on Saturday February 18th, the MJFD was dispatched to Building #1 in the North View Apartment Complex for an elevator rescue. Crews isolated power to the elevator and used the emergency keys to remove the lone trapped occupant. Responding were Chief 200, Engine 206 & Engine 208. All units cleared the scene in a half hour.
February 12th, 2012
Shortly after 7 PM on 2/12/12, the MJFD was dispatched to a residene in the Drinking Brook Estates development for an odor of smoke. Firefighters arrived to find a smoke condition on the first floor with an electrical odor inside. It was determined that the electric blower motor for the gas-fired furnace over-heated and started to smoke. The unit was shut-down and the residence was ventilated. All units cleared the scene by 8 PM.
February 10th, 2012
Around 5:45 PM on 2/10/12, the MJFD was dispatched to a residence in the North Umberland Way apartment complex for a sprinkler activation. Firefighters arrived to find a grease fire due to unattended cooking which resulted in the activation of a sprinkler head. The sprinkler system and utilities to the affected apartments were shut-down. Fire damage was confined to the pot and exhaust hood above the stove. All units cleared the scene by 6:30 PM.
